J.K. Balch was born in London Ontario in 1940, raised and educated there. Married and had three children. He was widowed in 1996. He retired from the manufacturing of transportation equipment in 2005 and moved to his son’s estate in North Milton Ontario. In the winter of 2025 after slipping on ice and breaking, his hip and femur he was confined to hospital for two months and being bedridden or in a wheelchair he decided to write a book using the back of his menu sheets to write notes on. When discharged and, taking therapy at home, he began to write his first novel and in the spring of 2026 it was complete. Justice is Justice done, a biographical crime mystery.
