In November of 2016, following the first election of Donald Trump, immigration lawyer Dan White looked at his wife, Susie, and five words were spoken: “We gotta get outta here.” Their move from Tennessee to Canada was a process of cultural adaptation involving bureaucracy, property sale, French tests, and too-small garages. By turns humorous, educational, and poignant, White takes us through his many observations on life as an American becoming a Canuck.
Dan White was born in Atlanta, Georgia on Halloween Day in 1956. He lives in Ottawa, Canada. In addition to Gone Canucking, he is the author of five books: Crossing the Gnat Line, Hep Cat, Outlandish Approaches, Confluence, and Warring Personalities.
